Song of the Day #13: “FML (SMLE Remix)” by K.Flay #Project365

First. World. Problems.

Check out the rest of EBM’s “song of the day” collection here.

I recently saw an Imagine Dragons concert at Barclay’s in October, and K.Flay opened for I.D. She sang Blood In The Cut there, resurfacing the song into my mind as of late. Side note: I found out K.Flay made an official remix for “Thunder”, I.D’s mega-hit that currently sits at No. 5 on the Billboard Hot 100:

Yesterday, I saw an NFL-related commercial with K.Flay’s “Blood In The Cut” as the backtrack. The song, which has been featured in NBA 2K17 in the past, is a song I’m very familiar with with but hadn’t regularly listened to – perhaps because I played NBA 2K to death.

After hearing “Blood In The Cut” multiple times during yesterday’s football Sunday, I woke up with it stuck in my head today, and proceeded to uncover more of K.Flay’s discography. I ended up on SoundCloud at some point during the day, and found a SMLE Remix of her song “FML”, which I included in my first Finds of the Day post today. After playing the song on repeat at least three times in a row, I decided to make it my song of the day, which I save every day to a Spotify playlist entitled Project 365. Spotify doesn’t have the SMLE remix in its catalogue, so I had to settle for the original. FML, right?
