Having cuts with big name acts like Kane Brown, Craig Campbell, Love And Theft, Adam Doleac, and most notably Luke Combs, is best known around the country music world for his talents as a songwriter. and has built a particularly strong reputation in the Nashville songwriting community.
Now five years since his relocation to Nashville in 2013, the 28-year-old native of Sanford, North Carolina is releasing his own music independently, dropping his debut single “Rust In Peace”.
Co-written with Adam Doleac and fellow Nashville songwriters Monty Criswell and Matt Roy, “Rust In Peace” tells the story of Phillips’ first truck and the wild times and memories he had in it.
As he does in all of his songs, Taylor tells a true from the heart story with ‘Rust In Peace’. A visit to the junkyard resting place of the Chevy Silverado he bought his senior year of high school, the song reminisces
Anyone can relate to the bond they had with their first car or truck. It holds a special place in the hearts of many, including Taylor Phillips who had ‘The best damn truck Detroit ever made’.
