Remember Rixton? The band that brought us “Me And My Broken Heart” – the platinum single that hit #1 in the UK in 2014 – is back, reincarnated with a new name: Push Baby. Even in their own words on the Rixton Spotify bio, “This story is no longer available. @pushbaby.” Rixton is dead. Now it’s about Push Baby, and their story is all about the comeback.
After the band was dropped (full story in the IG post below), they took some time off to reorganize and come up with a brand new, edgy sound that sheds the boy band identity in favor of alternative rock that’s pop-leaning. Think of the best parts of Infinity On High-era Fallout Boy, mixed with modern day Panic! and you have Push Baby. And it’s awesome.
The video combines neon luminescent paint, oversized-colored contact lenses, theatrics from lead singer Jake Roche, and a donkey – if that doesn’t tip your scale of interest in checking out the music video, I’m not sure what will.
The first release from the newly-minted band is a powerful start – we can’t wait to hear what’s next.
